How To Pack an Oven Control Board for Shipping to be Repaired

We recommend a box size that will allow up to 1” of space around the whole control board for cushioning material to fit and protect the board from any potential rough handling.  For this example we will focus on a common control board style used by GE, Whirlpool, Maytag, Thermador, Frigidaire, Kenmore, Jenn Air, and Bosch.

Most of the time, customers have a spare box that works (like ones from your Amazon shopping!), but if you don’t, you can get them at the UPS store, Office Depot, or Ecobox (Texas) to name a few.  Here is a box size that will work from U-Line: https://www.uline.com/Product/Detail/S-16722/Corrugated-Boxes-200-Test/12-x-5-x-5-Long-Corrugated-Boxes

And equally important is the cushioning.  We recommend common bubble wrap.  It’s easy to handle, cheap, and most people have some laying around the house.  Use a little bit of packing tape to secure the wrap and pinch the edges to protect the ends.

Set it in the box, tape it up and that’s it!  Make sure the shipping label barcode is showing for the carrier to scan it, and the board will get to us safely.
